HTML, is an acronym which stands for Hypertext Markup Language. It is the most widely used Markup language for creating web pages for the web, which means that with the knowledge of html, one can easily create a website.

Html was created by Berners Lee in late 1991, and HTML 2.0 which was the first standard HTML specification was published on November 25, 1995. Later on, HTML 4.0 was also published in late 1999, and even though it's the major and most widely used version of html, the super HTML-5 which is an extension of HTML 4.0 is the latest, reigning, super-flavoured version of HTML as of the time of writing.
